St. Joseph School Choirs

  Cantor Choir: The Cantor Choir is open to all 4^th and 5^th grade students. It is directed by Mrs. Bridget Pohlman. It has a capacity of 40 students. We rehearse once a week during the school day from 2:35-3:10pm on Tuesdays. This choir provides the opportunity for students to lead music at All School Mass, with the option to sing as a cantor. This choir also performs at the school Christmas Program.

• St. Joseph Singers: This choir is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8^th grade students. It is directed by Mrs. Bridget Pohlman. It has a capacity of 40 students. We rehearse twice a week from 7:30-8:10am on Tuesday/Thursday mornings. This choir leads music at designated All School Masses, and performs at various school events such as the Christmas program, Fine Arts night, Veterans Day assembly, and more. This group participates in at least one music festival at a local high school and takes a spring field trip to assisted living homes in the area. The performance opportunities for this group grow every year!

• Awesome Angels- St. Joseph’s parish children’s choir, the Awesome Angels, sings at Sunday Mass once a month during the school year and rehearses on Mondays after school from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.  Students from 1^st through 8^th grade, either from St. Joseph school or members of the parish, are invited to sing and learn about their Catholic faith through song.  There is a need to establish the idea of ministry at a young age, and the children’s choir is a fun outlet to combine creativity, service, and the faith.  Matt Winterhalter, parish Director of Music, runs the program and can be reached at [email protected] for more information.
