Mr. Richard Raney graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design and Illustration. While in school, Mr. Raney freelanced for several magazines and design firms. After graduation he joined the staff of Archbishop Ohara High School (AOHS) as an Art Instructor, while also continuing his freelance career. In 2017 he joined the founding staff of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School in Lee’s Summit, MO. For the last 21 years Mr. Raney has been helping students develop and nurture a passion for art and their God given abilities. Most summers he paints sets with the crew at New Theatre and Restaurant. Mr. Raney is married and has two beautiful children. Between teaching and commissioned artwork, he has a full schedule, but in his spare time he studies ancient history, creates personal artwork, and takes care of his two dogs Coco and Mija. He is excited to start this new adventure and looks forward to getting to know the St. Joseph community.
